Melbourne is no longer the envy of the nation thanks to an unreliable council, state government and grubby graffiti-stricken Yarra River precinct.
Graffiti is on all street corners and along railway corridors, imagine coming to Melbourne on the Overland Train or from Sydney on the XPT and being greeted by kms of graffiti on the network.
Melbourne now resembles a decaying 3rd world city thanks to 12 years of Labor rule.
Drug use is normalised, graffiti is treated like it’s treasured artwork, violent activists bring city streets to a halt, and machetes are worn as a fashion accessory by criminal teens.
And there’s the Herald Sun constantly kicking Melbourne and Victoria in the guts. Absolutely reliable.
Melbourne is so fooked that a cleaner river would make non difference. A dirty Yarra is consistent with a messy, pothole-ridden, debt-ridden, shitehouse health-ridden, progressive garbage-ridden hole that is Melbourne.
No need to change it, it’s so Melbourne as is.
It has changed it had for lease sign in CBD and the store are open but very few foot traffic…..the Graffti is major turn off I see it everywhere, wall, rail corridors and the Yarra….no life since after covid, the city was bumping pre covid era…..
I see people sleeping at stations a sign of the times…….people seem agro on the road and whist travelling as stressed and unhappy……
