The Kiwi carrier will add more than 34,000 extra seats between Auckland and North America from October 2025 to March 2026, an 8 per cent increase in US and Canada capacity over the previous year, including a 15 per cent boost to premium seating.

We didn’t get a chance to report on this news as it was happening but some of you MAY be aware of the coffee drama that took place with British Airways and its employees earlier in September. The oneworld alliance member had introduced a policy instructing employees to only drink water “discreetly” in public while wearing their uniform – effectively banning all other beverages.
Many do not realise how convenient it is flying from Australia to USA via Auckland especially from Melbourne. There are direct flights from Melbourne to Los Angeles with Qantas (do not bother) and United. Air New Zealand has the offer here too.
