The Airbus A380 is the largest commercial jet ever built, powered by four engines and set across two full-length decks. At the time of its launch, the A380 was a hugely impressive machine and a step up on rival large aircraft of its era. Typically configured to carry over 500 passengers, the A380’s sheer size and efficiency have enabled the quadjet to remain competitive in a long-haul market increasingly dominated by twinjet widebodies.
