The Airbus A310was always a relatively rare aircraft, with just over 250 examples of the widebody twinjet, which was a smaller version of the more popular A300, having been built. It became particularly obsolete moving into the 21st century, as airlines moved towards newer widebodies, or even stretched narrowbodies whose capacities were not dissimilar to those of the A310. However, it remained a staple of certain airlines’ fleets, with Air Transat holding onto it longer than most.
