Wizz Air launched the operations of its Abu Dhabi subsidiary, jointly controlled by the Hungary-based low-cost carrier and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), with the former owning a 49% stake in the newest airline in Abu Dhabi in January 2021. Since then, it has gradually grown into one of the largest carriers from the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
