Platform bins will return to Southern Cross Station this week following a review by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
The new bins, which have started to be installed this week, will be placed on each platform. The installation works will continue until Friday 30 May.
The new waste bins are consistent with the transparent design deployed at other train stations around the network.
“We are confident this measure will enhance the amenity of the station, and be welcomed by our commuters,” said John Iozzi, General Manager Southern Cross Station.
Could never understand why they were gone for 10 years makes little sense and led to rubbish being left on platform and on trains.
