UK-based virtual airline Global Airlines recently launched its first flights with the Airbus A380 courtesy of a wet-lease agreement with charter carrier Hi Fly. The airline has raised eyebrows over the particulars of its operation, with many believing its choice of aircraft (the gas-guzzling four-engine A380) will not be sustainable. Nonetheless, the carrier remains firm in its ambition to bring back the Golden Age of travel using the iconic A380 and has promised a number of onboard enhancements, such as ensuite first class suites.
