Cake-cutting ceremony celebrates 40 years of the Metro line on South Tyneside

A celebration to commemorate 40 years of the Tyne and Wear Metro operating on South Tyneside was held recently at South Shields Interchange.

Trial begins of free Wi-Fi on Newcastle’s Metro

On Monday, 8th December, the Tyne and Wear Metro started a three-month trial of free Wi-FI at its Central Station in Newcastle city centre.

Lumo has announced that they will run an extra service to help football fans return from London to Tyneside on the 11th May 2024.
