Singapore Airlines is one of the world’s top-ranked airlines and one of the most famous carriers in Asia. It operates a fleet of around 157 aircraft, of which the bulk (87%) are widebody aircraft. Singapore Airlines’ mainline narrowbody fleet is made up of 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. Four are Boeing 737-800s and 16 are current-generation Boeing 737 MAX 8s. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 has a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles or over 4,000 miles.

Just a little over two weeks ago, Alaska Airlines and their intended partner, Hawaiian Airlines, were excited that their merger was virtually a done deal.
