The Embraer E190 is part of a series of twin-engine regional jets designed and developed by the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. The E190 is a stretched version of the E170 with a larger wing, a larger horizontal stabilizer, and new engines. Since the type's first flight in March 2004 and its introduction to JetBlue Airways in 2005, the E190 has been popular among global carriers for regional needs.
