Of all the decisions an airline has to make, settling upon its fleet mix is perhaps the most important. The aircraft at an airline’s disposal will determine many different factors in its operations, such as route network, flight frequencies, cabin classes, fare prices and more. As such, the process of deciding the fleet mix requires a huge amount of analysis and, in many cases, risk, as airlines weigh up the pros and cons of opting for one aircraft model over another.
