KTZ launches door-to-door service between Kazakhstan and Belgium

Kazakh Railways (KTZ), through its subsidiary KTZ Express, has launched a new door-to-door service to Belgium. The company organises the entire transportation process, including the first and last mile.
The service is not quite new, as it started in February 2025. “The company has been providing a full cycle of transportation: internal logistics in Kazakhstan, rail transit, road delivery in Europe, customs clearance and control at all stages”, KTZ explains.

The service kicked off with a shipment of Kazakh molybdenum concentrate, carried in 68 twenty-foot equivalent containers. However, says KTZ, the company can scale up the service to accommodate other types of freight as well.

KTZ receives support from its European office in Budapest, which allows it to act “as a single operator, ensuring uninterrupted and transparent logistics.”

Expanding internationally

The Kazakh national rail operator is expanding its international network. KTZ Express similarly organised the entire transport process for a shipment to Houston, Texas. “In this shipment, KTZ Express provided a full range of transport and logistics services, including the organisation of the first mile, cargo insurance, provision of containers and preliminary declaration”, the company commented at the time.

“This event became an important milestone, confirming the readiness of KTZ Express to provide reliable and high-quality service in any route direction, which opens up new opportunities for Kazakhstani manufacturers to enter world markets.” KTZ also announced a first shipment of grain to Morocco via a Latvian port last week.
