Startup Troubles: Mexico’s New State Carrier’s Flights Have Been Nearly Empty

Aerolínea del Estado Mexicano, the new state-owned and low-cost carrier of Mexico, only commenced operations on December 26th last year and has seen many of its first flights be practically empty. Some reports have shown passengers having the whole plane to themselves. Launching just two weeks ago, the airline has seen stifled demand for its few weeks of service.
