Last year, Southwest Airlines announced that it was pulling out of several existing cities on its route, primarily due to financial issues. As the airline got hit with financial lows, some low-performing airports in the network, including Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) said goodbye to Southwest. The airline officially stopped flying to IAH on August 4, 2024, leaving William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) as the only option for the airline’s Houston travelers.
