India’s MTNL reports defaults as debts continue to mount up

Airtel Africa reported a loss of US$89 million as it also suffered from the devaluation of the Nigerian naira, despite growth in customer base.

State-owned operator Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) has signed a mobile network sharing agreement with French operator group Orange to boost service quality and narrow the gap with its larger mobile rivals.

Telefonica’s sale of shares in its fibre optic network in Peru to investment fund KKR and Chilean telco Entel collapsed after the deal was announced in July 2023.
