Hormuud Telecom launched 5G in key locations across Somalia with 4G customers receiving free upgrades to the next generation technology starting from today (March 21).

Philippines-based operator Globe Telecom sold off more towers in a deal sealed back in 2022, raising PHP13.5 billion (US$234 million) to support future capex plans and pay down debts.

A consortium led by Xavier Niel-owned investment company NJJ Holding completed the acquisition of Ukrainian operator Lifecell from Turkcell for US$524.3 million, with aims to merge it with fixed telecom and pay TV provider Datagroup-Voila.
