While airlines worldwide have vigorous fleet replacement programs, this does not always mean their aircraft are destined for the scrap heap. Usually, the aircraft will be leased or sold to another airline. United Airlines’ oldest Boeing 737s are several 737-700s inherited from its merger with Continental Airlines.
