Passengers may be mistaken in thinking that their flight is over as soon as the landing gear of their aircraft touches the runway. However, that is not always the case. Very occasionally, the pilots may choose to apply power once more after the aircraft has touched down, and take off again. This is known as a touch-and-go landing, or a go-around.
