A ground stop has been declared at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) on Friday, January 12. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has revealed that departures are delayed an average of 120 minutes due to snow and ice. Chicago, much of the Midwest United States, and the Great Lakes region were hit by a major winter storm. The storm is expected to bring snow ranging from six to twelve inches, accompanied by strong winds. These factors combined typically create whiteout conditions and have caused blizzard warnings to take effect in six states, ranging from Nebraska to Wisconsin.
