Earlier today, a United Airlines flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles had to divert to Brisbane after declaring an emergency in flight. Operated by a Boeing 787-9 ‘Dreamliner,’ the transpacific service had departed the Australian city relatively punctually on Friday morning, but soon found itself incurring a heavy delay when it had to turn around just under three hours into its journey back to the United States.
