19 Years: This Emirates Airbus A380 Is Now The World’s Oldest Active Superjumbo

On April 3, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. It was A6-EDF, 19.1 years old and nearly double the average of the carrier’s superjumbos. It initially undertook a round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner are retired or stored. A6-EDF is now the world’s oldest active passenger-carrying superjumbo.
