Australia's airports have done an amazing job of enticing international airlines, be they new or resuming, back to the country, and the most successful has been Melbourne Airport. When travel resumed many expected domestic traffic to drive recovery, but it is the international capacity that has recovered more quickly, driven by the airports and the various state governments with their aviation support funds.
