The Widebody Aircraft No Longer Flown By American Airlines

Fort Worth, Texas-based legacy carrier American Airlines has long been known for operating one of the largest global aircraft fleets. As of March 2025, American Airlines operates a fleet of more than 980 mainline jets, which currently makes it the third-largest commercial airline in the world by fleet size. The airline’s mainline fleet includes exclusively Boeing and Airbus models, with all the airline’s widebody jets being built by the US-based planemaker.
