Over thirty years ago, on September 14, 1993, Lufthansa Flight LH2904 overshot the runway after landing in Warsaw, leading to two fatalities and dozens of serious injuries. A combination of factors was to blame, including volatile weather conditions, pilot error and the Airbus aircraft's in-built safety features not operating as they should.
