Nashville Airport Could Be Renamed After Dolly Parton

Earlier today, a grassroots effort to help rename Nashville International Airport (BNA) after Dolly Parton, a legendary singer and a Tennessee native, gained one of its biggest nods of confidence so far when a petition supporting the effort reached 6,000 signatures. Most of the airports across the United States are named in honor of someone, typically a political figure or other major cultural icon. Good examples of such airports are John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, which was named after the US President, and Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY) in New Orleans.
