In November 2024, an odd story hit the headlines. A leased Russian AeroflotA320-200 had been released from Munich Airport in Germany after having been stranded there for over two years following sanctions placed on Russia in 2022. There was €460,000 or $493,000 in parking fees to be paid before the leasing company could send it to its new operators. It appears that the aircraft was not returned to Aeroflot.
