The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is an eight-engine heavy bomber that has been an important part of the US Air Force fleet since the 1950s. Whilst the earliest aircraft entered service in 1955, today’s active aircraft date from 1961 and 1962. With ongoing major upgrades, the same aircraft will likely still be flying in 2050.
