Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), the principal international airport serving Charlotte, North Carolina, is located six miles west of the city’s principal financial district. The airport serves as the primary gateway for both commercial and military use in the greater Charlotte area, and it has been operated by the city’s Department of Aviation for decades. The facility covers more than 5,5000 acres of land.
