Denver ATC Staffers Were Used In Eagle County Due To Shortage

Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), which serves Vail Ski Resort, recently faced extensive staffing challenges during a transition period between different contracted air traffic control service providers. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which regulates air traffic control across the United States, initiated the airport’s transition from one air traffic control provider to another last year. This rapid transition resulted in extensive unexpected delays, something that forced the airline to deploy temporary measures to help ensure that operations would stay somewhat normal.
