On Friday, January 31st, a Learjet 55 being utilized as an air ambulance crashed in northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shortly after taking off, the Learjet 55 suddenly nose-dived into several buildings near the airport. The crash started a large fire and caused significant damage to several buildings. The private jet, which was registered as XA-UCI, was owned and operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance. This company conducts air ambulance and medical evacuation operations, and it is based in Mexico. Jet Rescue Air Ambulance operates around the world, but it focuses its operations in Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. The plane crash resulted in the death of all six occupants, and it injured several more people on the ground. One of the six passengers who passed away was a girl traveling back to Mexico after receiving treatment in the US for a life-threatening illness.
