Jacqui Felgate questions Jacinta Allan on whether she’ll stand aside after Werribee by-election

With the Werribee by-election fast approaching, Jacqui Felgate has questioned Premier Jacinta Allan on whether she’ll stand aside if Labor loses the seat.

The by-election takes place next Saturday, with Labor looking to hold on to the seat after Tim Pallas’ resignation.

“If Labor does lose that seat, will you stand aside?” the 3AW Drive host asked the Premier.

“I think it’s important that we respect the voters who are voting in both Werribee and Prahran, and let them decide the outcome of the election, and not presume that before it happens,” Allan said.

Tim Pallas did very little for his own seat of Werribee when it came to infrastructure. The western suburbs of Melbourne are the fastest growing region of Australia. Rail services are in desperate need of upgrades and overcrowding is out of control. Roads are clogged with cars and trucks. A lot had to be delivered and it was not and that means a change in the seat.

“Whether it’s Werribee or any part of the state, communities need Labor governments and Labor premiers to fight for them.”
