Cell C takeover (almost) complete after ICASA approval

Malaysia’s wholesale 5G operator Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) announced on Thursday that it has appointed new members to its board, whose first mission will be to finalise stakeholder ownership details and review DNB’s due diligence findings.

MTN revealed its strategy to “restore profitability” in its Nigerian unit which includes raising tariff prices, after being hit by a sharp devaluation in the local currency.

MTN’s super-app Ayoba had 35 million monthly active users in 2023 a year-on-year increase from 20 million due to feature upgrades and expansion into new markets, and now the operator aims to chase growth through expanding its B2B front.
