The deal is considered the first major agreement for the advanced APEX ammunition type, with production due to start in 2025 and deliveries following over the next two years.
The plan will include the development of a new Statewide Aviation Strategy, which will have a particular focus on Newcastle and Western Sydney International (WSI) Airports. It aims to generate $91 billion in annual visitor expenditure by 2035.
The figures, released as part of Airservices’ monthly aviation network overview, come as the sector continues to be affected by cost-of-living issues and a decrease in business travel blamed on the rise of video calling.
