Overwhelmingly, the aviation industry today is defined by excessive consolidation. Everywhere you might look, this is undeniably the case. There are only a handful of major commercial airlines in every market, and many large, developed nations have just one or two carriers altogether. In the world of commercial aircraft manufacturing, there are pretty much just two companies that matter, with Boeing and Airbus controlling almost the entire market.
