Can Any Country In The World Build Commercial Aircraft On Its Own?

Can any country independently produce a modern commercial passenger jet (like a Boeing 737 or an Airbus A350)? Currently, the world’s commercial passenger jet production is dominated by the United States’ Boeing and the pan-European company Airbus. Additionally, Brazil’s Embraer is an established distant third, China’s COMAC has also entered the market with its COMAC C919, and Russia has the Yakolev MC-21 and the Sukhoi Superjet. Canada’s Bombardier is also worthy of a mention. But can any country build commercial passenger jets alone? The short answer is no ( as Russia is now experiencing firsthand).
