The works will include expansion of the terminal to both the north and south, as well as a larger check-in area with overhauled technology and 25 per cent more capacity, and the addition of up to nine more aircraft parking positions.
Starting 4 July, the weekly flights will operate non-stop from Brisbane to Espiritu Santo on Thursdays, returning the same day via Port Vila on a similar schedule to the former Air Vanuatu route.
Operation Christmas Drop 24 ran from 4 to 17 December and involved a RAAF C-130J Hercules and 35 Australian Defence Force personnel.
