AIR6500 will deliver four advanced air-defence radars, manufactured by Canberra-based CEA Technologies, with the first delivery expected later this year.
The completed trail is projected to attract 15,000 day visits and 14,000 overnight stays to the region each year, generating around $5.8 million for the local economy.
Operation Christmas Drop 24 ran from 4 to 17 December and involved a RAAF C-130J Hercules and 35 Australian Defence Force personnel.
