The CCA program is part of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program which also includes the sixth-generation fighter jet. While the Air Force appears to be having second thoughts on the wisdom and cost-effectiveness of a manned sixth-generation fighter, the same is not true of the CCA program (which the Air Force is eagerly pursuing).
