Last Friday, the latest QantasLink De Havilland Dash 8-Q400 (not pictured) to join the fleet operated its first commercial flight in Australia after surviving what may be one of the longest ferry flights on record. Most turboprop services in Australia are in the air for around an hour or so, so the thought of a seven-day, 11-sector flight on the Dash 8-Q400 is daunting, to say the least.
