Between 2012 and 2017, New York-based low-cost airline JetBlue Airways saw record growth, and its financial success was admirable, with the airline’s stock nearly tripling in value during this roughly five-year period. The airline launched new routes and began expanding across the country, building out a sizable presence at major West Coast airports despite losing out on the sale of Virgin America to Alaska Airlines during this period.
