Located in Miami-Dade County, the airport reached unprecedented records last year, in terms of passenger and cargo traffic. The airport served over 52.3 million passengers in 2023, an impressive 3.2% increase over the previous year.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
