During the Cold War, the USSR was one of the great producers of military transport aircraft. The Soviet Union even made the world’s largest military transports (the Antonov An-225 Mriya and the An-124 Ruslan – both larger than the US C-5M Galaxy). Large military transports were produced by Antonov (based in the Ukrainian SSR) and Ilyushin (based in the Russian SSR). But are any of these military transports still in production today?
