Launched in 2013 at the Paris Air Show, the Embraer E-Jet E2 family of aircraft was meant to be the aircraft manufacturer’s future, a next-generation narrowbody with groundbreaking efficiency that could even compete with planes like the Airbus A220. Nonetheless, a series of poor design choices and production delays ultimately harmed the aircraft’s potential for commercial success, and the aircraft today is known more for its inability to sell than for its engineering advancements.
