Every morning at 5:45 AM, one of Delta’s network’s earliest routes prepares for departure, Flight 5382. The aircraft in question, a CRJ900 regional jet, pushes back in the early morning hours from a gate at T.F. Green International Airport (PVD), the principal airport serving Providence, Rhode Island. With no one around on a typical frigid New England morning, today’s daily departure from T.F. Green bound for LaGuardia Airport (LGA) was nothing out of the ordinary.
