Why Is The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress Expected To Have Such A Long Service Life?

The B-52 Stratofortress, a heavy bomber, is expected to remain in service for more than 100 years. The US Air Force announced in their fiscal 2024 budget document the B-52s redesign. These bombers will receive new F130 engines from Rolls-Royce, replacing the Pratt and Whitney-made TF33 turbofan engines that have been in use since 1954.
