The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a twin-engine attack aircraft designed and developed by Fairchild Republic for the United States Air Force (USAF). Commonly referred to as the “Warthog,” the A-10 was primarily designed for close air support (CAS) operations, assisting ground troops. The USAF operated the aircraft to attack enemy ground forces, tanks, and other armored vehicles.
