Hawaiian Airlines is the oldest airline in Hawaii and one of the oldest in the US. The airline was founded on January 30, 1929, as Inter-Island Airways in Honolulu. When the carrier launched operations, it used Sikorsky S-38 amphibian planes that carried eight passengers.
