Situated on the border of Mexico and the United States, Aeropuerto Internacional de Tijuana (TIJ), or Tijuana International Airport, serves the Baja California state and, generally, the Tijuana and San Diego metropolitan areas. While San Diego International Airport is just 24.8 miles apart, it can take up to an hour to transit between either of them by car and required a lengthy border crossing.
