Trump wins second term as President, Kevin Rudd to pack his bags?

Did Kevin Rudd ever think this tweet below would see the light of day again and have such relevance as to question his position of Australian Ambassador to the United States of America?

Where does he now stand in relation to the electing again of Donald Trump to the US Presidency?

Can he really continue in the role of Ambassador with Trump in the Whitehouse?

“Sometimes the past is rewritten so fast that you don’t know what will happen yesterday.”

  1. He should stand by it and take the principled approach of resigning from his position, citing inability to work with such a person.

But that would require moral courage and leadership.

  2. Joe Hockey was Ambassador before when Trump was President, maybe it could be politic to appoint Scott Morrison. Only slightly joking actually.

  3. His position is untenable. Be no surprise if he soon finds out that he needs to spend some quality time with family unless he comes up with some other spin. He has only 2 options. Either shown the door by Washington & go or to resign . A Beijing posting suits him better.
