The Royal Australian Air Force was the launch customer for the E-7 Wedgetail platform and was joined by the Republic of Korea Air Force and the Turkish Air Force, which currently operates the E-7.
The Canberra-based firm, which hopes to launch a space-based air traffic control system, will collaborate with institutions such as RMIT, Curtin and UNSW on the positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) system.
The addition of the second bomber marks a significant milestone in the program, allowing engineers and aircrew to expand testing of what has been described as the most advanced long-range strike aircraft in history.
