The Lockheed Electra: From WWII Reconnaissance To Business Travel

The Lockheed Model 10 Electra is a twin-engine aircraft designed and developed by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in the early 1930s. The all-metal monoplane was designed to compete with the Douglas DC-2 and the Boeing 247. The 10-passenger aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney Wasp engines could attain cruise speeds of 170 knots (195 mph) at altitude.
